What Lorem Ipsum Is
Lorem Ipsum is placeholder text used by designers and developers to fill layouts before real content is available. It has a natural word rhythm without distracting readers with meaningful copy, which makes it easier to evaluate typography, spacing and page structure.
The text is derived from Latin and has been used in design and typesetting for centuries. It is not meant to be read as meaningful content; it exists to occupy space realistically.
Paragraphs, Sentences or Words
Choose the unit that fits your design: full paragraphs for article layouts, sentences for cards and short sections, or individual words for labels and compact components. Set the count you need and generate a new result each time. You can also start with the classic “Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet…” opening for a familiar look.
HTML Output
When you need markup for a prototype, select the HTML format to wrap paragraphs in
<p> tags. The plain-text format is better for design tools, documents
and CMS fields that already handle paragraphs. Review the target editor's behavior:
some tools expect raw text and will escape tags if you paste HTML into a plain field.
